Q: Why is Fig Tree Farm introducing an entry fee?
A: As Fig Tree Farm has grown and welcomed more visitors, the cost of maintaining the grounds, facilities, trails, and security has increased. The entrance fee will be reinvested into the Farm, to help us preserve it, care for the land, and maintain a safe, high-quality environment for everyone to enjoy for years to come.

Q: Why R20 per car?
A: We’ve kept the fee as low as possible to remain accessible to the community, while still making a meaningful contribution to ongoing maintenance and safety. Even small contributions, when shared, help protect the Farm for the long term.

Q: Is the R20 fee charged per person or per vehicle?
A: It’s per car, regardless of how many passengers are inside, to keep it simple for families and groups.

Q: What if I’m dropping someone off and not staying?
A: The first 30 minutes are free, allowing for quick drop-offs without needing to pay.

Q: Are larger groups or events covered by the R20 fee?
A: Larger gatherings or organised events may require separate arrangements to ensure the space is managed safely and responsibly. Please contact us to discuss options.

Q: Can I pay with card or is it cash only?
A: The paystation machines are card only facilities, but validation and cash payments can be made at the cash paystation situated at the bottom of the stairs in the car park entrance to the nursery.

Q: Is the farm still open every day?
A: Yes, our operating hours remain unchanged.

Q: Do I need to book in advance?
A: No booking is required for casual visits, trails, or small picnics (up to 6 people).

Q: How does the number plate scan-in benefit me?
A: Number plate recognition helps speed up entry, reduce queues, and enhance security, creating a smoother and safer experience for all visitors.

Q: I visit often, is there an annual membership?
A: We’re glad you asked! We’ve introduced significantly reduced monthly and annual memberships for regular visitors. These offer great value while supporting the ongoing care of the Farm.
